Perchè No Gelateria - 06.03.06

I am an ice cream fiend. Florence is often said to offer the world's best ice cream. This is a match made in heaven, no?

Yet this is our first gelato stop, on day three in Florence. We have been slacking in our efforts, though there are gelaterias every four feet. We have been endeavoring to find "recommended" places, and they're a bit more challenging. Perchè No ("Why Not?") is, it turns out, worth the wait. I go straight for the chocolate and caramel flavors, losing myself in ice cream heaven. Meena has both straight chocolate and something that tastes like chocolate and rum. I am only too happy to finish what she can't.
